Definition. A broken heart (or heartbreak) is a common metaphor used to describe the intense emotional pain or suffering one feels after losing a loved one, whether through death, divorce, breakup, physical separation or romantic rejection.

Gazing into the mirror, I stare at a reflection of a broken woman
Reading between the lines left by the condensation from the air as the hot shower runs
The pain across her face screams LEFT in PAIN..LONELY..HE
I cry because I can only see deep inside this woman who looks just like me, as the tears

My heart dropped into my stomach as my head dropped to the floor, Is this how love feels rejected, cold, and borrowed
The words simply started to fade as I reminisced
You got a chick that loved you
I respected you like you were the President
I always was around
I held you down
When you cried I wiped your tears, when you were troubled, I lent you an ear, when you were broke I funded you
When you were alone, I loved you
And you said you love me to
You told me we will never part. But we are apart
You promised me that forever we would be, but you really lied to me
Now, you assured me that it’s over, that decision was way too easy
Now, I am searching my soul of new ways to complete me.
I guess true love dies overtime when another agenda is created.

As, I wipe the mirror with my hand the reflection slowly fades, I can see clearly now. This IS my day, it won’t return. But you will.
